Lucilla, Lucrezia and Ludovico Bonaccorsi are part of the LuFamily with Luna and Luchino Bonaccorsi.
LùBar: from street-food to a catering service, from a lido to a café, from a kiosk to a restaurant.
LùBar is the product of an idea by three “Lù” brothers (Lucilla, Lucrezia and Ludovico Bonaccorsi), with Sicilian origins, but actually Milanese, to set a scene for a chiringuito at the entrance of the Vendicari Oasis (Noto, Sicily). Lùbar, “The Bar” in Sicilian dialect, so becomes “The Lùs’ Bar”.
From this first adventure, which dates back to 2013, the concept has expanded, travelling on an Ape Car that is set up with patterns and colours evoking Sicily, and now counts three main lines of business: a catering service, an Arancini kiosk on the Mezzanine Terrace of Milan’s Central Station where they were invited by Grandi Stazioni in 2015 and a wonderful location at Milan’s Villa Reale, that hosts the Modern Art Gallery in Via Palestro 16, opened in 2017.
In all of the LùBar locations a specific philosophy is followed: that of entertainment, may it be musical, cultural, didactic, or given by a simple book to read, in a continuous evolution from dusk ‘til dawn.
LùBar: from street-food to a catering service, from a beach club to a café, from a kiosk to a restaurant.
LùBar is the product of an idea by three “Lù” brothers Lucilla, Lucrezia and Ludovico, part of a family whose names all begin with ’Lù’ (Lucio, Luisa, Luna and Luchino).
They have Sicilian origins therefore the name takes another meaning for them, in Sicilian dialect lubar means “The Bar”. The first LùBar was a launched as a chiringuito in the Vendicari Oasis (Noto, Sicily).
From this first adventure, which dates back to 2013, the concept expanded, travelling on an Ape Car that is set up with patterns and colours evoking Sicily, bringing all throughout Italy, and in various European cities, the regional street-food par excellence, the Arancino. At the same time, Lùbar developed a catering service that, from the simple Ape Car, works with galleries, museums, corporates and private parties, serving inaugurations, special occasions and weddings. Another ape car was located at on the Mezzanine Terrace of Milan’s Central Station where they were invited by Grandi Stazioni in 2015 and they worked there for 4 years.
In 2017 they opened their main project in a wonderful location at Milan’s Villa Reale that hosts the Modern Art Gallery, GAM on Via Palestro 16. It was a new challenge: a café, bistrò and restaurant with a more elaborate menu and a strong attention to detail with a reminiscence of Sicilian origins.
The space in itself is, in fact, sophisticated, relaxing and soothing: six ample glass ceiling windows facing the court and a gazebo, which is blooming when in season. The scenographic objective is to create a sensorial holiday experience all throughout, from sight to taste.
Today, Villa Reale is the perfect synthesis of this: Ludovico has eyes to product and service, Lucrezia is in charge of aesthetics to the minimal detail and Lucilla (who has been working for years with their mother, Luisa Beccaria) follows Public Relations.
